Obiettivi formativi
Abituare lo studente a comprendere presentazioni matematiche su argomenti non curricolari, incuriosendolo su nuove tematiche e favorendo lo sviluppo del senso critico. Introdurlo all'uso dei diversi mezzi di ricerca bibliografica e incoraggiarlo all'utilizzo della lingua inglese per scopi scientifici.The student will start to understand mathematical topics presented through single talks on subjects non coinciding with those of the courses. This activity enhances the ability of critical judgment. Furthermore the student get used to modern techniques for mathematical bibliographic research and is encouraged to the use of English in a scientific framework.- Oggetto:

Verranno proposti seminari di vario livello e tematiche e ulteriori attività seminariali (quali il Welcome Home). L'elenco dei seminari proposti è aggiornato periodicamente sulla pagina moodle. Lo studente dovrà scegliere 10 seminari di cui almeno 2 dei dottorandi e almeno 2 di altro tipo. I seminari saranno offerti sia nel primo che nel secondo anno del corso di studi. Inoltre lo studente dovrà seguire il corso relativo alle banche dati bibliografiche offerto in modalità online dalla Biblioteca del Dipartimento di Matematica "G. Peano” (link sulla pagina moodle).Seminars of different levels and themes will be offered as well as further activities (such as the Welcome Home). The list of proposed seminars is periodically updated on the moodle page. The student has to choose 10 seminars of which at least 2 organized by the Ph.D. students and at least 2 of other types. The seminars will be offered both during the first and second year of the course of study. Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
L'esame prevede un giudizio di superamento (e non un voto) che può essere registrato dopo aver seguito le seguenti attività:- 10 seminari tra quelli riportati sulla pagina moodle del corso, di cui almeno 2 dei dottorandi e almeno 2 di altro tipo;
- il corso relativo alle banche dati bibliografiche offerto dalla Biblioteca del Dipartimento di Matematica "G. Peano”.
Lo studente può frequentare i seminari sia nel primo che nel secondo anno di corso. Per la partecipazione ai seminari è richiesta prenotazione secondo modalità precisate sulla pagina moodle. La presenza ai seminari dev'essere comprovata dalla certificazione che verrà rilasciata per mail. Lo studente può registrare l’esame nel secondo anno di corso, quando abbia completato tutte le attività richieste e le abbia regolarmente caricate su Moodle. Per la registrazione è necessario iscriversi ad un appello d’esame.
The exam evaluation is a passing judgment (and not a grade) which can be recorded after partecipating to the following activities:- 10 seminars among those listed on the moodle page of the course; at leat 2 of them must be Ph.D. Seminars and at least 2 of other types;
- the course on bibliographic databases offered by Library of the Department of Mathematics.
Students can attend the seminars both in the first and in the second year of the course. To participate to the seminars, reservations are required according to the methods specified on the moodle page. Attendance at seminars must be proven by the certification that will be sent by email. Students can register the exam in the second year of the course, when he has completed all the required activities and has regularly uploaded them on the moodle page. In order to register the exam, it is necessary to sign up for an exam session.
