Abstract: Mickey Mouse was created by Walt Disney more then 90 years ago, and the italian comic book Topolino, named after him, has recently turned 70yo.
More than 150K Disney stories appeared and obviously in many hundreds (if not thousands) of stories there are references to mathematics. What are the appearances and different uses of math in Disney comics? What image of mathematics do they convey to the young readers? How can mathematicians use this powerful visual tool to convey a correct image of what mathematics really is and maybe even use Disney comics as a teaching tool?
In this seminar I will try to give a personal answer to these questions.
